Christmas is the most important festival in the western world。 It falls on December 25th。 When my mother and I stayed in America， we were invited by one of my mother's friends to have Christmas with an American family。 We bought some presents for our American friends on our way to their house。
They had prepared different kinds of gifts for their family and guests when we got to their house， such as Christmas candles， cakes， cards， little toys， biscuits and so on。 A Christmas tree was placed in the comer of the brilliant hall。 How beautiful it was! We were impressed by these。 We had a big meal。 After dinner， they told us some interesting stories about Christmas。 We learned that Christmas had something to do with God。 We went to bed at midnight。 Though we knew the Santa Claus was not true， we were still waiting for the Santa Claus with white beard to bring us presents。And we received many beautiful presents the next morning。
This Christmas was really unforgettable。 Not only did I have a good time， but also I knew something about foreign culture。
my neighbor is from usa. he is a professor in a university here. he always says "hi" when he sees any people in the neighborhood. i went to his home this christmas with my friends. i gave him a christmas card. he was so happy. he took out some food and some drinks. and, we sang some christmas songs with him and ate a little of food. he played the piano and we danced and played games. when it was getting late, we said goodbye to him. he thanked us for our visit and placed my christmas card on his refrigerator. he also said, “thanks, little cherry.” it was a good day.
I like the Christmas, not only because of the presents, and the festive season, but more of the feelings behind everything.
It is now winter in China, however, you can see many people on a Christmas shopping spree. Why do people go out on such cold days to shop? It is freezing outside, and sometimes there may even be blizzards. I could not understand this at first, but now I do.
I think it is the thought that counts. We give presents to our beloved family members, our best chums, and those people who cared for us and we cared about. This, I suppose, is the power of love. It may be freezing cold during this cold season, yet I believe that people feel a gush of warmth when they receive their Christmas presents. As the saying goes "It's better to give than receive", the people receiving presents will be elated, and so will be the people giving the presents.
I have decided to spread the Christmas spirit and show my love and concern to my family members and friends by giving them Christmas presents. The presents need not be too dear, as it is the thought that counts. I wish everyone a merry and blissful Christmas.
